A key thing to keep in mind in this relationship is that Cancer is a lot more sensitive than they first appear - they're a master at putting up a false front. If you're relative strangers, such as when first dating, this isn't a problem as they don't expect much else. However, as the relationship progresses they'll expect you, as a loving partner, to be able to see past that facade at all times.

Cancer is a sensitive and above all moody partner, who really does best with someone who intuitively understands them. To be blunt, this is unlikely to be you. While you have a huge number of strengths admired by many other signs, being overly emotional, empathetic or nurturing aren't high on your list.

In practical terms, Cancer is an unpredictable sign, while one day they may be fun loving and outgoing, the next they may be melancholy and down. While your partner is in a good mood, you'll get along perfectly - it can be a match made in heaven.

The problems arise however when your Cancer isn't in such a good mood, or feeling particularly sensitive - you just don't have the toolset to overcome that obstacle - on the contrary, your first reaction will be to cheer them up via laughter and joking. Compounding this, Cancers tend to have phenomenal memories. You like to socialize while your Cancer often prefers to spend most of their time at home or with family. You're honest and blunt; happy to discuss any subject openly, while your Cancer is far more reserved and private.

This is likely to be very good! Cancers are never dull; their varying moods ensure that you never quite know what to expect. This will certainly appeal to you, however keep in mind that however reckless your Cancer may be, they're here for true love - and expect the same. Cancers don't take love lightly, and ever implying that you do is likely to create a mountain of offense which you'll be hard pressed to climb out from.
