Libra and Scorpio Compatibility

Libra Scorpio is a hard combination to make work, as most aspects of your personalities are opposite. In many respects this will be a battle between light (you) and dark (your Scorpio). Aside of other things, this can create a lot of sexual chemistry!

The low scores represent the initial compatibility of this match. However, if you can both adapt to the others style this is a relationship which will improve steadily over time, and eventually rival any other combination. The low scores then represent a high initial challenge, and not a long term pessimistic view.

This article is in two halves, the first is written from the viewpoint of the Libra man or Libra woman, and the second is written from the viewpoint of the Scorpio man or Scorpio woman.

From the Libra viewpoint

Scorpio is sexy and mysterious, and there's likely to be a strong initial attraction on both sides here. You will find each other fascinating, and will probably race to find a bedroom.

You’re also both looking for commitment and marriage, so initially this will look like a great combination. That’s about where the initial similarities end though.

You’re intellectual and analytical while your partner is deeply emotional. You’re talkative while your partner is much more intuitive and non verbal.

To a large degree your Scorpio is likely to see you as too superficial or fickle, and your usual charm and diplomacy won’t work on this partner, who sees past such things very easily.

You’re highly social while Scorpio is far more reclusive and private. There’s likely to be disagreements over staying in versus going out. If you end up going out alone it's likely to create some jealousy issues until a very high level of trust is reached. As with so many other aspects of this combination, Scorpios jealousy and intensity are opposite to your casual and easy going nature.

I’ve heard it said that Libra can bring Scorpio out of their shell, and teach them how to be a social butterfly, but I've yet to see it in practice. Scorpios are very stubborn over such things, and really don’t enjoy the trivial conversation or artificial formalities required to classify someone as sociable. If you've had that advice, take it with a pinch of salt.

You’re big on fairness, while your Scorpio just plain isn’t! Much more down to earth and practical in this respect, your Scorpio will take what they need and leave the rest. They’ll expect you to do the same, and this will lead to some very frustrating conversations and negotiations. This is definately an area where understanding each other can help a lot - you can each easily take offence where none was intended.

Libra Scorpio sex

Initially this will seem fantastic! You'll love your Scorpios intensity and confidence in the bedroom.

In the longer term however, your Scorpio is looking for a deep emotional connection, while many Libras prefer something lighter, more fun and more romantic. Note there's a difference between romantic (which can be superficial) and emotionally intense (which doesn't need much in the way of traditionally romantic preparation).

As with all low scoring relationships it can definately work if you both want it enough, however it often wont be as easy as it may first appear, and some major compromises will be needed. You'll need to do your share of the compromising, as it's very unlikely your Scorpio will be flexible on some of these key issues.

It’s important to note however that we’re looking only at sun signs here. There are many other planets which can have an equal or greater effect on someones personality. Makes sense, as ultimately everyone is of course unique. Generalizing too far based just on sun signs can therefore be misleading.

Libra woman and Scorpio man

As a side note, this combination is slightly more likely to work with a male Scorpio and female Libra. You're ruled by Venus, and Scorpio is ruled by Mars. This gender combination will leverage that and potentially increase the sexual chemistry significantly. All other aspects of the relationship however remain the same, though your tolerance (or more to the point, that of your Scorpio) may be a lot higher!

From the Scorpio viewpoint

There may be some great initial attraction here, as you’re both outwardly fascinating to each other. However under the surface you aren’t very compatible without some compromises being made.

You’re emotional, while your partner is more intellectual and analytical. You’re more indirect and intuitive, while your Libra is one of the charmers of the zodiac - a master of light conversation, which eventually you may come to consider annoying, shallow or indecisive.

Compounding this, Libra likes to get approval from lots of people, and not just their partner. You'll likely find this to be flirtatious and perhaps even offensive.

You’re private, and somewhat of a loner socially, while your Libra is much more social. It’s safe to say there will be arguments over going out versus staying in. Your Libra will eventually go out alone, and you know how things will go down hill from there. In theory Libra could make you more sociable, but in practice it's unlikely to happen.

In short, your intensity and your Libras casual nature don’t mesh well without some compromises. You’ll be a puzzle to your Libra, and likely they’ll annoy you, with concepts such as fairness (very important and central to them) which you know have no place in the real world.

Sex

In the early days of this relationship there will be a lot of chemistry, until you both learn more about each other.

In the long term however, you want intensity and an emotional connection, while your Libra is far more light and casual, and doesn’t treat sex with the same sense of importance. While your Libra is more romantic, you operate on a deeper level and won't appreciate it as other signs might, probably finding it to be superficial and serving little purpose if it's not backed by a solid emotional or spiritual connection.

No! This article is based only on sun sign interaction. In order to provide a lot of people with information it's a convenient and fast way to generalize, but it's far from conclusive at this broad level.
