Common features of Scorpio relationships
Scorpio profile: Scorpio zodiac
Scorpio profile: Scorpio astrology
Ruling planet: Pluto
Zodiac element: Water
Zodiac quality: Fixed
Rules: 8th house
Birthstone: Beryl - Apache Tear, Aquamarine, Coral, Obsidian, Topaz (these birthstones really have nothing to do with astrology. They're established by jewelers, and competing jewelers sometimes use different systems)
Scorpio profile: Scorpio is a Water sign
People of Water signs tend to be emotional, sensitive and more spiritual than average. Often they relate better to people of other Water signs. Their feelings run deep and they can be easily hurt (though they often hide this vulnerability). They tend to be very loving and romantic and take relationships very seriously.
Scorpio profile: Scorpio is a Negative sign
People of negative signs tend to be introvert, responsible, practical, serious and more likely to be pessimistic (when compared to people of positive signs). They typically relate better to people of other negative signs (though their soulmates are typically of positive signs).
Scorpio profile: Scorpio is a Fixed sign
People of fixed signs are known for their determination, deep thoughts and persistence. They tend to achieve more than the other (cardinal or mutable) signs due to being so willful. On the negative side they can be stubborn, opinionated and inflexible.
Scorpio profile: Scorpio is ruled by Pluto
The lord of the underworld, Pluto represents anything which we don't understand, and the fear that the unknown can cause. Amongst others this includes the intense power behind creation and destruction and our reactions to it (including obsession) in a broader sense it represents the taboo, deviant and occult. Knowledge that perhaps we shouldn't have.
Scorpio profile: Scorpio is associated with the 8th house
The 8th house represents anything which we don't know, don't have or don't understand. While this may sound dull, it covers some of the most primal and powerful influences in a humans life. For example, the fear of the unknown (arguably the force behind all religion), the need for regeneration and reproduction (through sex), secrets, mysteries, the occult, intuition, transformation (including death). Oh, and taxes (which is kind of funny when you think about it).
The easiest way to understand the 8th house is to view it as the opposite of the 2nd house (possessions). The opposite (things we don't own) have a whole new set of issues.. those of trust, sharing, merging, which this house also embodies.
